The pop group FAROE5 was created by a national TV-audition, and was originally an all-girl band. I originally joined the group as songwriter, guest-rapper, marketer, publicist and co-manager. We played the major music festivals in the Faroe Islands, and, toured the the country with our show. In 2008, the group won “Best New Act” at the Planet Awards.
In 2009, one of the members quit the group, and I replaced her and joined the group as the only male member of the five. We soon released our new single “Tell Me Now Part 2”, which I had written, and which was a remix of an earlier single first album. To market the song, we decided to make a music video. A colleague and I created the video using only the equipment we owned, our time, in-kind business sponsorships, and our friends as extras.
The song became the group’s biggest hit, winning and keeping the #1 spot on both the Faroese music and video hit lists for 6 weeks during the summer of 2010. The song was picked up by radio DJs in the UK and was featured in various radio stations in Scotland.
